I see in your website about a Christmas tree starter package namely seedlings comprising of 4 different varieties of 25 each plus shipping. Can they be shipped within the next 4 weeks or have to wait until Spring of next year? If so how tall are the seedlings now and will they be shipped also bareroot?

All our bare root nursery stock is shipped in the spring of the year. Typically between late April and early June is the shipping timeframe. The seedlings in the starter pack are generally 6-12" above the root.

What is the size/age of the trees in the Xmas tree starter pack?

All trees in the Christmas Tree Starter Package are graded 6"-12". The White Spruce and Douglas Fir are 2 yr. seedlings. The Concolor Fir and Balsam Fir are 3 yr. seedlings.

We live in east Texas. Can we successfully plant these Christmas trees without any problems? Will the trees survive in our zone? I believe we are in zone 8 or zone 9

None of the trees we offer in the Christmas Tree starter pack will work in your zones unfortunately. It is too hot for your zone. Christmas tree starter pack is recommended for zones 4-5.

The Christmas tree starter pack is bare root seedlings. You receive (25) of each variety listed, for a total of 100 bare root seedlings.

What Christmas trees are best suited for zone 7

The Christmas Tree Starter Package contains (25 each) of four different trees. Of those types, only the Concolor Fir is suitable for planting in Zone 7. The package is recommended for zones 4-5 only. Other trees suitable for Zone 7, as well as Christmas tree production that we sell individually are Canaan Fir, Fraser Fir, Scotch Pine, White Pine, and Colorado Blue Spruce.

In general the trees will grow about a foot per year once established. I would guesstimate about 7 years out for that size tree.

We ship exclusively in Spring. We feel this allows the seedlings to have a full season of growth for the roots to get established.

Are the trees deer resistant?

Concolor Fir and Balsam Fir are not deer resistant. White Spruce and Douglas Fir are considered deer resistant. If hungry enough, deer may browse on anything young.
