Dawn Redwood

Metasequoia glyptostoboides

The Dawn Redwood is a deciduous, coniferous tree which requires a large space. Conical shaped, excellent landscape specimen with light green, feathery, fern-like foliage in spring, maturing to deep green in summer. Exquisite bronze-red autumn color before the foliage is shed by this tree. Attractive bark is red-brown and deeply furrowed. Fluted trunk. Tolerant of deer, air pollution, road salt and wet soil.
