The Norway Spruce is a true northwoods giant that can reach heights of 90+ feet. This conifer has the same conical shape as the White Spruce, but exhibits its signature drooping branches as it matures. This fast growing evergreen has dark green color with short, shiny and stiff needles. A common choice for windbreaks since its strong and flexible form can withstand winds over 100mph. The Norway Spruce tolerates dry locations better than other spruces, but prefers loamy, well-drained locations. This tree is very adaptable to most conditions and naturally deer resistant.
Now you have access to the same trees planted by the giant timber companies, tree farms and many forestry agencies! The roots of our P1 size trees are surrounded by a plug of soil which is 3.3 cubic inches while our P2 trees have a plug of soil 4.9 cubic inches in volume. Our P3 Super Plug trees boast a soil plug volume of a whopping 15.3 cubic inches, over 3X the size of its P2 counterpart! The biomass of the trees also increases substantially with each plug size increment. This includes the soil plug size, root system and stem diameter.

This is a giant tree when it matures, think of it as a multi level skyscraper for birds. Thick foliage provides birds a great place for nesting, roosting and cover from predators and winter weather. Many animals large and small use this tree for cover and shelter including grouse, woodcock and hares. While the tree is used by owls and hawks for roosting, it is common to see an Eagle or Osprey perched atop these towering forest kings.
